No Antivirus Program Works
Once a guy wrote me through a tech support forum and this is what he asked.
I have the following programs installed on my PC
1) PC Tools Antivirus
2) AVG Free
3) Spybot Search & Destroy
4) Weebroot Spy Swepper
5) Avast Antivirus Home
6) Windows Defender
7) Spyware Blaster
8) Norton Internet Security
"My cmputer has been very slow lately, I have run all of the above programs and there were not able to find anything. Please tell me what other security program i should use as the ones I am using are not good enough"
From the moment I saw this huge list of programs I knew this was the problem. He had so many security programs on his computer they were eating up his resources and making his computer slow (and he was actually asking for more). The guy probably didnt know any better and just kept installing more and more programs to solve the problem which was actually making the situation worse as they were consuming even more of his resources. I wrote him and explained this in detail. There couldnt possible be any dangerous infection on his PC because the programs would be sure to suck it up.
I thought that this will solve his problem, but he insisted that there was a threat on his computer and demanded that i give him the name of another program. This is what I told him
I am sorry to say this, but there is no threat on your PC. I have already told you what the problem is and you refused to accept what I said. If you don't believe me, ask anyone who has experience with computers and I'm sure they will tell you the same thing. You don't need another antivirus program, you already have too much. Just remember that no security program in the world will ever protect you from the threat of yourself.
